female nipples
The female nipple is one of the more pleasurable and popular piercing among women of all ages today. Female nipple piercing has been documented in one form or another for well over 100 years. Female nipple piercing jewellery varies as much as the nipple does itself, in size and configuration, and as such, consultation and measurement are an important factor when contemplating this piercing.
The piercing itself should be placed at the base of the nipple tissue avoiding the aureole. (Please note that the pic with the barbells above and below the nipple, were placed in lifted skin, not into the aureole tissue) Jewellery should be used at 14 gauge and thicker and larger busted women should consider a barbell to begin with to avoid migration of a ring due to the pressure a ring is under. Once healed, female nipples can be stretched, weights worn as well as nipple shields etc. Multiple nipple piercing is also not uncommon on women who have an area large enough to sustain more than one piece of jewellery. male nipples
Male nipple piercing has not been as well documented as female nipple piercing but is as, if not more, popular than its female counterpart. As men discover that their nipples are an erogenous zone, more and more men today are undergoing this procedure. Roman soldiers were reputed to have had nipple piercing to hold their cloaks in place, as a sign of masculinity, but no solid proof of this exists.
Male nipples can be placed through or behind the nipple depending on tissue configuration. Jewellery should be at 14 gauge or above and a wide variety of items can be selected in this particular piercing. Many men report an increase in nipple size after piercing and many men have multiple nipple piercings if this event occurs.
